Designed to hold strike-anywhere matches, their organic silhouettes evoke the mesas and monoliths of the desert, scaled perfectly for interior spaces. Every surface is strikable, creating a tactile moment reminiscent of the desert’s sharp, acrid air. Handmade in Brooklyn, each piece features subtle variations in form, making every match holder uniquely its own.

About the maker:

Dune Brooklyn is a visual creation space and functional design studio inspired by the sensorial experience of the desert. The studio was founded in 2021, out of a desire to create spaces and objects that cultivate a sense of sublimity, peace in solitude, and joy in rituals. Surreal natural scenes, textures, light, color, and forms provide a framework for creation in a variety of media, primarily ceramics. Pieces are wheel thrown and hand made by Heather (founder & designer) in her Brooklyn studio.
