Archive NY is a woman-owned brand committed to preserving traditional weaving and dyeing techniques through ethical collaborations with artisans in Guatemala, Mexico, and India. Founded in Brooklyn and now based in Los Angeles, the brand blends bold design with timeless craftsmanship.
About the maker:
Amira Marion grew up surrounded by Guatemalan textiles collected during family travels, planting the early seed for what would later become Archive NY. Decades later, her passion for traditional weaving brought her back to Guatemala, where she began researching historic motifs and techniques. That journey led to the founding of Archive New York—a brand dedicated to preserving disappearing textile traditions. The design process starts with sourcing rare, antique fabric samples, particularly from regions where weaving practices are fading, and partnering with local artisans to bring those patterns back to life. Archive is grounded in a commitment to Fair Trade and the respectful preservation of Mayan culture, honoring the integrity of each original design through every step of production.
